How is Wattle Organics handling the current COVID situation?

However we can guarantee that we took all necessary measures to retain our product quality. We appreciate your support and patience. Take care of your self and your loved ones.

What are surfactants?

Surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension and act as detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers and foaming agents.

We took a lot of care in choosing our surfactants used in product formulation. All the surfactants we use are plant derived,  biodegradable and have a minimum impact on the environment.

What are Soapnuts?

Sapindus is a genus of about five to twelve species of shrubs and small trees in the Lychee family.

Members of the genus are commonly known as soapberries or Soapnuts because the fruit pulp is used to make soap.

Soapnuts have saponins which have surfactant properties and have been traditionally used for washing.

Advantages of Soapnut Extract:
  • Natural surfactant and perfect alternative to chemical detergents
  • Mild and hypoallergenic
  • Effective in low dosage
  • Completely bio-degradable
  • Have natural conditioning properties for smooth skin
  • Have antimicrobial properties and aids in disinfection

What is Neem oil and why is it used?

Neem oil is a vegetable oil pressed from the fruits and seeds of the neem (Azadirachta indica), an evergreen tree which is endemic to the Indian subcontinent. Neem oil is made of many components, Azadirachtin is the most active. Some of the benefits are:
  • It reduces insect feeding and acts as a repellent.
  • Has anti-microbial activity
  • Treats dry skin

Because of its extensive capabilities, this has been used as one of the ingredients in all our detergent products.

Do you use artificial fragrance?

Essential oils are used to provide a fresh aroma/ fragrance to the products. Essential oils used in the products are of the highest quality and were carefully chosen based on their auxiliary properties of acting as anti-microbial agents.

How to use the laundry liquid to wash whites and tough stained clothes?

As our laundry liquid has sodium per carbonate and no optical brighteners, the whites must be soaked in bucket filled with warm water and a cup of laundry liquid for at least 30 minutes prior to washing them in the washing machine.
For tough stains on clothes, apply the laundry liquid directly on the stain and allow it to soak for at least 15 minutes prior to washing clothes. Some stains might need a second soak as well.

Why is my detergent foaming less and does it mean it is not cleaning properly?

As we use mild surfactants, they do not create foam like commercial detergents.  The foaming capability of the product has no impact on cleaning strength of the product.

Why does the consistency of your products not resemble the commercial products?

Commercial products use a lot of chemicals and special ingredients to achieve the colour and consistency of the product. As we used only plant derived and most commonly available ingredients in our formulation and without any artificial colour or fragrance, the liquids might not resemble the commercial products
Please note that consistency and colour have no effect on the performance and the intended use of the product.

Are your products natural, organic and vegan?

This is a question that is commonly asked to us!

Our products have mild detergents and does not have chemicals, hence can I call it natural - maybe not!

The raw materials used in the preparation of the product have undergone some kind of processing that has altered them from their natural state. Hence, we are not claiming our products to be natural however every care has been taken to reduce the chemical foot print that these products have on the environment.
We hand make our products and make them in small batches to ensure that there is less processing and low carbon emissions, minimum wastage.

Our products are not 100% natural, nor certified organic .

Are your products toxic to the environment?

Every product (whether it is organic, chemical or eco friendly)  that we use in our daily lives,  has some impact on the environment.  Our Wattle Organics products do have an impact on environment but they are not toxic. We at Wattle Organics use biodegradable, plant derived ingredients and natural minerals in our product development and design. This ensures that the impact on the environment is minimum and is not toxic in nature.
